Numbers inform, stories stick. If you tell a presentation, a pitch or a change as a story, you give your audience something to hold on to: a starting point, a conflict, a solution and the people it is about.
For me, storytelling is not an add-on but a core rhetorical tool. I use stories in my own training because participants recognise faster what matters. And I write myself: my dark fantasy novel “Eisiger Zorn”, volume 1 of the series “Aygens Kriege”, was published in 2026 (in German). More at aygens-kriege.de.
Typical situations
- Your presentation is correct, but it moves no one.
- Complex content should become understandable and engaging.
- The opening decides whether your audience stays with you.
- A pitch has to convince within a few minutes.
- As a leader you want to explain change, not just announce it.
- Findings from research and expertise should reach a broad audience.
